As part of the research project for my master’s thesis, I created a demo version of a gamified training tool for new drivers who were preparing themselves for their driving exams. The participant had to unlock multiple challenges in order to unlock the whole ‘map’. The goal was to drive the chosen character safely to the finish.
Each level consisted of a screen with the question, a video and multiple choice answers. After answering the question the participant was shown a popup with feedback. The levels that were finished were ‘checked off’ on the map and this opened up the next level on the map. After each level the car moved further towards the finish. After answering the last question the participant was shown the final screen with their final score and the prize that goes with it.
Click here to play the training tool (note: It is in Dutch).

While working at HPM, I was asked to design a infographic for TenneT. TenneT is a Dutch-German transmission system operator. The infographic explains the process of building a high capacity power cable and which parties are involved with it, in order to inform citizens living in the area where the power cable will be located.
Inspired by visuals shown at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam, I created this short animated video about a happy little fish that is secretly being chased by a big shark during a thunderstorm. I went for a surrealistic vintage vibe for this video.
The Little Boiler

For my bachelor graduation project for for Feenstra, a Dutch allround energy service provider, I’ve designed and animated 5 short videos about a cartoon character: a boiler.
The videos were to be used in an e-mail retention marketing campaign. This videos consists of the 5 short animated videos. In the first video it is the boilers birthday. In the second one he is showing off how strong he is, but that he is having some difficulties. In the third one, he is really cold and needs help. The fourth and fifth one show a “boiler checkup” with different outcomes.

The Road to Fixing Your Bike Chain
#GRAPHIC DESIGN #INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
Infographic and motion graphic on how to fix a bike chain. This infographic was used in a research project about Instructional Design at University of Twente. In this research project, three different types of instructional design (text only, infographic and motion graphic) were created to gain insight into the benefits of the use of static and dynamic visuals in instructional design when compared to only the use of text.
